An Update As We Depart
Friends,
I hope your year is going well. Ours feels as if it has just begun and will be one of the busiest yet. Life in India is so slow paced and relaxed, however ours seems to constantly speed up. We have been encouraged as we look back on 2007 and see all that God has done and continue to press forward.
Thank you for your prayers for our students as they graduated on March 1. We sent out 24 this year into the harvest field of India. It was an amazing feeling, as always, to send them into the unknown- but I place where I have tread and know with God EVERYTHING is possible for them. Please continue to pray for them. Many have gone back to non-believing families and life will be difficult for them, especially as they share the good news with others.
We want to thank our student sponsors this year. Your support has been a blessing. Thanks to my mom and dad (Richy and Marianne Jones) who donated Bibles and covers as a gift for the students this year for their graduation. We appreciate you and love you.
The children in the orphanage are always so sad to see the students go, since they live together for 8 months before graduation. This year they presented a dance to the song "Share the Well" for the students as they go out... reminding them to share what God has given them to others.
The children (we have 37 now!) are studying for their final exams coming up the end of this month. We have several who will graduate from high school this year so please pray they will do well. Our kids sure are growing up. Their lives have been completely transformed and we look forward to sharing this with you soon.
A HUGE thank you to our orphan sponsors. I dont know what we would do without you. You help keep us afloat and we appreciate your support for these children. I hope one day you will be able to come and see what a HUGE difference you have made in their lives.
We leave India tomorrow to head to the US for 4 months. As most of you know we are expecting our 3rd child, who we have found out is Luke Amol Pawar. I am due the beginning of May and we are looking forward to this new addition. In fact Abigail told me this week that she is more excited about Luke's arrival then our trip to the US- and that is BIG since they are super excited about going. It has been nearly 2 years for them, and they have such wonderful memories of times with the cousins and friends.
Please pray for us as we travel. Planning this trip has been discouraging at times. Some of you know we had a stop over planned in Amsterdam to break- up the trip, but Amol was denied his visa last week. That was unexpected and disappointing as well as an expensive mistake. We would appreciate your prayers as we travel and arrive.
We secured a rental house just this weekend and are looking forward to being in Bakersville, NC again for some cool weather (already over 100 here!) If you would like to contact us while we are in the US our cell no will be 828-385-3870. Hope to hear from you!
Please pray also for the ministry as we leave, of course it is always a bittersweet departure... and very hectic. Today is our last full day at home and we have much to do.
Thank you to everyone who responded and helped us confirm dates to come and share with your church. We have a busy schedule about 2 days after we arrive, but are very excited and anxious to see what God is going to do and how he is going to do it.
THANK YOU for everything you do for us. Your prayers, your visits, support and encouragement. I love what God has called me to do and I am so glad God has called laid it on your heart to stand behind us and support us. We have be blessed and most of all lives are being changed... I will share with you personally... soon....
Amol & Rachel Pawar
